Welcome
The NHBRU offers the following services:
House history reports
Photographic, drawn, and measured surveys, analysis, interpretation, and scientific dating.
Buildings archaeology
A description of the building is usually provided together with supporting information on architectural styles, materials, and techniques as required, with an assessment of phases and development. Where possible scientific dating will be undertaken to obtain a reliable and accurate date of construction.
Desk-top assessments
With the introduction of Planning Policy Guidelines (PPG 15/16), desk-top (based) assessments have become an important stage in the planning process and it is likely that the majority of developments will require some form of archaeological survey to be undertaken.
Information in support of planning applications
Assess the impact of development on historical buildings before planning applications
